Power Paws Assistance Dogs Receiving Donated BarkBed Covers

February 14, 2016 by Anna

Power Paws Assistance DogsWe’re donating dog bed covers to Power Paws Assistance Dogs in February and March since it is no secret that we love service dogs. Our co-founder, Anna is currently raising her 5th guide dog for the blind and she absolutely melts whenever she sees any working dog. We were lucky to learn about Power Paws Assistance Dogs through our friend and photographer, Chris. We are grateful that Power Paws let us use their puppies as models.

During February and March, we will donate one BarkBed Cover to Power Paws for every BarkBed Cover sold. This “Buy One, Give One” special is like a 2 for 1 sale, and who doesn’t like a sale?

According to the 2000 US Census, over 25 million Americans are unable to walk 1/4 of a mile or even climb 10 stairs without some kind of assistance. Power Paws, believes that it is the right of every person to pursue the quality of life they want, and by providing skilled service dogs we can give back to our communities and their citizens. Power Paws, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to empowering adults and children with disabilities for greater independence. So please help Power Paws and buy your BarkBed dog bed cover this month. If you like, we will notify Power Paws of your purchase or keep you anonymous. We are excited to work with this important charity while bringing you a clean, fresh, removable dog bed cover for your home.

About Power Paws Assistance Dogs

Power Paws provides dogs to adults and children with disabilities throughout the United States – generally those who have mobility impairments, such as paraplegics and quadriplegics, veterans with PTSD and patients with Type I diabetes.  http://www.azpowerpaws.org/  Assistance dogs have been trained in over 90 commands including turning light switches on and off, opening and closing doors and drawers, retrieving items and untying shoe laces. Diabetic alert dogs have been specifically trained to identify, and alert to the high and low glucose levels in diabetic patients. These dogs play a critical role for their human partners in their diabetes management.
